Spotlight on North Street Press Club

In the heart of downtown, North Street Press Club or “Press” — a nickname dubbed by staffers and locals — is a gem of Farmville.

The eatery blends genuine hospitality and an intriguing globally inspired menu in a laid back atmosphere. Debuting in July 2019, the restaurant has quickly established itself as a place where residents become regulars, and visitors passing through seek out the good energy. Press’s motto: global grub, local vibes.

On the menu find everything from a bahn mi sandwich to ahi tuna tacos and saucy cheese curds. Dig a burger? A fan favorite is the “Hunter S. Thompson,” topped with sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, Swiss, arugula and garlic aioli. P.S. Daily specials means there’s always something in store.

The kitchen is helmed by Chef Nathan Barton, who works closely with Cavalier produce. “Working with Cavalier Produce has helped us keep our produce as fresh as possible and at a great cost,” he says. “Customer service has been amazing from sales to the drivers, I enjoy working with everyone I’ve had the pleasure of talking to at Cavalier Produce.”

The dessert menu changes daily with a lineup of treats from nearby Heaven and Earth Farms. For brunch, treat yourself to a loaded bloody mary, decorated with grilled shrimp, steak and the usual suspects, or a mimosa pitcher.

Taking advantage of the massive dining room, tables inside are safely distanced, with hand sanitizing stations spaced throughout the dining room. The patio was recently adorned with a large tent and holiday lights, creating a cozy outdoor oasis complete with heaters.

North Street Press Club is currently open from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. There’s also an outdoor walk-up window ideal for all of diners' takeout needs.
