Nestled along The Virginia Capital Trail in Williamsburg, Spoke & Art Provisions Co. is an outdoor oasis and community gathering spot fit for foodies, nature-lovers and bikers alike. Debuting a few years ago from co-owners Steve Rose and Jennifer Raines, and since undergoing a series of renovations, the cafe and market is open Thursday through Monday from 8 to 7 p.m., and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

In the mornings cozy up with a latte or mimosa (or both) and a mini quiche, and in the afternoon, lounge on the spacious outdoor deck  — the perfect place to practice social distancing — with a turkey and brie sandwich on a crusty, housemade baguette. Inside, shelves are stocked with art, snacks and novelties from custom coffee mugs to local beer from Precarious Beer Project and Alewerks, along with cool bike gear.

Spoke & Art hosts weekly events including live music, and in the warmer months, yoga. On Thursdays it’s pinky’s out for Afternoon Tea ($14 per ticket), a three-hour ode to the British tradition complete with finger sandwiches and homemade scones and macarons (reservations required).

Located at mile marker 2.5, bikers can find a 24-hour bathroom as well as a fix station. Have a friend who wants to ride but doesn’t have a bike? Spoke & Art offers rentals ranging from hybrids to recumbents. Pro-tip: Pack a blanket for a picnic, you’ll want to stay a while.
